Modern front-end development isn't. Front-end developers have been forced to worry about domains that were previously a back-end concern: routing, authentication and access control, cache invalidation, and more…
Heavy-handed and complex "front-end" frameworks have consumed conventionally back-end concerns. Instead of implementing intuitive, well-designed, and polished user interfaces with mostly HTML and CSS, front-end developers are wrangling giant JS monoliths with crude tendrils reaching back into a database.
It doesn't have to be so.
In this session, you'll learn about a game development inspired design pattern for decoupled architectures that brings joy to the art of building web interfaces—without sacrificing the tools, flexibility, and web-native stack (HTML, CSS, & JS) that sparked the decoupled movement.
Attendees should have some experience building websites/web apps and intermediate familiarity with HTML, JavaScript and web basics like requests vs. responses or clients vs. servers.
